We were also given new headsets which were used throughout the trip for a more immersive tour. These were particularly impressive as Beth said they come in 5 languages and gave great insight into the history of the local area and the Skelligs.
Honestly great value for money would highly recommend to everyone!

When you are in Kerry, do not miss the Skellig Aqua Terra tour from Valentina with Elizabeth and Brendan. This eco tour does not land on the Skellig but... read more do not let that put you off. We have been travelling to Kerry for many years and we always thought “why go all that way and not land”. Well, this year, we decided to head out on the Atlantic in search of puffins and gannets and to get close to the Skellig. The best trip in 9 years. The team at Aqua Terra are very friendly, knowledgeable and always safety conscious. We even tried to help a gannet that got stuck in some netting but it kept moving away from us. You just don’t know what stories you will come back with on this eco tour. We had 12 in our group and the sea swell and temperatures were not an issue for all the non-sailors among us. The boat was comfortable and safe. However, remember you are on the Atlantic Ocean and so come prepared. I would recommend you board at the dock beside the Skellig Experience Centre across the bridge from Portmagee. There is plenty of car parking. On the way back, you should spend the extra few euros to go on the tour in the Skellig Experience Cetner and most definitely make sure to stop for great seafood in Portmagee. Thanks to Elizabeth and Brendan for a great trip. We will be back next year to do some of the other tours they offer including the island with the great sandy beach they described. So, pack your bags and have a great trip.

The tour was fantastic, funny, informative flexible and the coast was spectacular. Definitely a highlight of our trip.
